Follow the Bean Bag (Warm-up)
Tactical Problem:  How to follow partner with the bean bag, or elude follower?
Skill development:  Quick change in direction, finding open space
How to play:
  • person with bean bag leads, finding open space, 2's follow, on teachers cue "toss" 1's toss bean bag above head, 2's catch it.  2's now lead 1's. 


Teaching Points: 

  • toss bean bag high, gives time to react
  • keep head up and find open space
Progressions:
  1. 1.  start off WALKING
  2. 2.  then JOGGING
  3. 3.  finish off by RUNNING


Recap question:

  • How do you make it easier/harder for the person behind you to catch bean bag? 
 Pictures of phases:

1.  Lead person toss bean bag above head

2.  2's catch bean bag, now they lead


 
Organizational Points: 
  • in pairs
  • # themselves off 1 and 2
  • 1's get bean bag, 2's find open space
